Johnny Grant Honored With Broadcasting Pioneer Award Friday, May 19, 2006
| My longtime friend, Johnny Grant, honorary mayor of Hollywood, received the Broadcasting Pioneer Award last Friday. I was invited to be on the dias with other friends of Johnny's to pay tribute and tell a few tales about the guest of honor. In attendance were Angie Dickinson, Jeanne Brown, Freddy Travolina, Jamie Farr, Tippi Hedren, Buzz Aldrin, Terry Moore, Hal Kanter, and Gary Owens. The affair was held at the Sportsman's Lodge in Studio City. There were lots of photogs and press from TV. |
|

| The Sportsman's Lodge is a lovely spot. Here, while I'm being interviewed, a black swan comes over to have a look. Hmmm. what is all that blonde hair? |
|
He lost interest and swam away, then came back... |
...Then got a little closer look. |
 And we parted friends. |

| Inside there was a crush of photographers around Johnny as he puckered up to kiss me hello. |
|

| When it was my turn to speak, I HAD to tell a naughty tale or two about Johnny and me. You see, we used to date. You can see this brought back an, um, interesting memory. |

|
Johnny takes center stage to make some remarks of his own. |
And we all stand for photos afterward. |
The festivites over, I do an interview with Thomas Peyton for my documentary, being produced by Kevin Leadingham. |
| Hef's Birthday Party |
It's an exciting night as Perry and I set off for the Playboy Mansion... |
 ...and Hef's 80th birthday bash! |

| Everyone was there--from Donald Trump to Julie Strain. Julie and I waited in line for the photo kiosk--the only pictures allowed these days at the mansion. There was a fabulous rap group playing live and there was dancing and partying until the wee hours with gorgeous guys and the cream of the Playboy Bunnies. Every year Hef gets older, I have more fun! |
|
Hef, as always, was the gracious host, handsome, debonaire, and charming. Many, many more, Hef! |
