Justice Howard Photo Shoot
April 2, 2006

Not long ago, Justice asked me to participate in a charity event for Children of the Night by doing a photo shoot depicting crime scenes. Our mutual friend, crime writer JohnGilmore (author a fascinating book on the Black Dahlia murder in 1946) contributed ideas for the layouts. I lived a few blocks from where the Black Dahlia was found, and it has always been a sort of definitive L.A. murder mystery. The results of the collaboration of Justice, John, and myself are on these pages. Not all of them are crime scenes, but they all are rooted in the dark, troubled subculture of prostitutes.

Murder in White Satin

Just before the murder scene, a shot with a dear heart: Jean Harlow. I wanted to have a shot with this lovely photograph of my idol. I could feel her presence when I put my arm around this picture. It was an experience I've never had. Thanks to the magic of Justice Howard.

Here I've been murdered in an authentic, vintage 1930's white statin dressing gown from MGM wardrobe. It could have been Jean Harlow's.

This little number I'm wearing is my hooker dress.

White goddess checked out.

"Oh, yes, darling. My working number is Hudson 2-7000."

Dressed to party.

Party over.
