Mae West Opens in Las Vegas

If you know anything about me, you know that Mae West is my idol. She broke ground for all the rest of us "glamour girls." She wrote her own plays and movies, and went to jail when her play "SEX" opened in New York. Here she is opening in Las Vegas in 1954. I flew in and sat ringside.

Mae was carried onstage by seven muscle-bound hunks in diapers. Mae liked men who were WELL ENDOWED. I don't think the guy on the far right quite measures up.

Some of the diapers drooped after a while. The white sandals did not exactly butch them up.

My pick is the guy looking at his own pecs, right behind Mae's hat. In fact, I think he was Mae's pick too . . . a replacement for Mickey Hargatey, who had been recently sidelined when he became Jayne Mansfield's new hubby.
