Early Television

I was a guest star on the Dick Powell Four Star Theater. Here he's giving me notes on my performance in rehearsal. The script was written by an unknown screenwriter named Aaron Spelling.

The rest of the Four Star Theater cast with Dick and me: Barbara Nicols and Angie Dickinson. Angie and I became friends, but lost touch after a few years. In 1996, however, she was instrumental in getting my star for me on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In costume as a stripper on the Dick Powell Four Star Theater. Naturally, the censors made me cover my breasts with what looks like the Tin Man's costume from Wizard of Oz.

This is a really rare publicity photograph for a TV series I never did called "The Face, The Shape, and The Brain." Guess which one I was? On the left is Virginia Field and on the right is Gale Robbins.

Another rare shot. Checking out the birds and the bees is Steve Harmon, Ensign Pulver on the Mr. Roberts TV series. Mr. Roberts was played by Roger Smith.

One of the most popular TV series in the 1950's was Ozzie and Harriet. Naturally, I made a guest star appearance. Here's a shot with Ozzie himself.

Ozzie and Harriet's most precocious child was the irrepressible Ricky. Rick Nelson, of course, went on to become a huge rock star, and then met a tragic end in a plane crash.

Long time pal Bob Cummings during filming of his TV show in 1960. The Bob Cummings Show was a huge hit then because he played a glamour photographer. It was the skin show to see in its day.
